Why are you looking for psychological help?

There are are many reasons why you look for psychological help.  First and foremost, whatever troubles you, you want to get relief -- from pain, from turmoil, from stress, from an addiction, for family problems.  This sense of relief... and the satisfaction and hope that comes with it... is the chief benefit of therapy, and it is what you're asking of us.

Look over this list.  Though very likely find one or two... or even more... words that you might use to describe your situation and why you've come to our website:

● I feel depressed... anxious... stressed... panicky.

● I'm angry a lot... afraid ... shy ... lonely... isolated.

● I'm getting older... I worry a lot about aging.

● I'm troubled by addiction to drugs and/or alcohol.

● My eating is a problem -- I eat too much ... I starve myself... I see my body as two fact or too thin, or just not right.

● I cut myself... I make myself throw up.

● I get sick often and my doctors can't find much wrong with me.

● I have an auto-immune disorder, and I'm having a hard time coping with it (lupus, fibromyalgia, HIV, etc.).

● I'm tired... aimless... listless... self-defeating a lot.

● my sex-life is suffering... or poor... or I don't really understand my desires... I'm concerned about my sexual orientation.

● I have trouble at work... or school... I have trouble getting along with others.

● I find myself in a lot of conflict.

● I've had a major trauma... or some sort of powerful event... and I can't seem to get over at... or it can't seem to stop grieving over a loss.

If any of these are troubling you, professional help will benefit you.  Call us or e-mail us for help.
